03/04 evo 8 value

What would you guys pay at most for a 2003 Evo 8 in black that’s virgin stock with 12K miles ? One owner history...and what would you pay for a the same year Evo 8 with 14K miles in red, 2 owner history but with a Buschur turbo back exhaust, STM intake, 1200cc’s with an FP-Red on E85. Both having maintenance records I’m sure and the bolt on one maybe parts/install receipts. Neither are for sale guys, both are people I know in my area and was willing to make them an offer & try my luck with either or so I can have a second Evo. I just don’t want to low ball them as a slap in the face so trying to figure out something they’d consider on their end. A buddy of mine said the virgin stock one could easily sell for $50K he thinks if someone really wants it and the other bolt on one with minor mods maybe still $45-48K since the miles are still so low with good branded parts and low owner history. What do you guys think? Thanks

I would check out some of the completed auctions on BringATrailer for comparisons. The bone stock one is definitely worth more than the other, especially since the modded car has a modified turbo, injectors, and e85 which requires tuning aka running higher boost, aggressive timing, etc compared to a factory spec Evo. As for pricing, since both are the oldest 2003 models, I do not see either car selling past 30k, but that is just my opinion. I would honestly just ask them and see what they would like for the car, best of luck!

This is another but reserve was not met. 12k mile 2003 and highest bid was $26k. There were 22 bids so it gives you a rough idea of what people are willing to pay. Not trying to tell your friends what they should/should not do since it's a sellers market with these cars lol. Just hate to see it when people get shafted one way or the other. Buyers always feel they paid too much and sellers feel they should've sold for more.

yeah seems like the 2003’s sell for less even with the low mileage, for now atleast. Maybe years from now it’ll be a different story if miles are still kept down as they’ll be more harder to find I feel. Thanks though for the links! Definitely helped to get an idea.

Nice! I’d say if you were to keep the miles under 20K in about ten years it would be worth $45-50K it seems.even with it being a 2003 and seems like the 9’s sell for more. But hey what do I know lol just my opinion. Maybe your plan is to build it and have fun, that would be my plan. But just saying I think 8’s with low mileage will be worth way more later on like the 9’s.

Yes my plan was to built it and have fun. I have changed it a lot visually already since i got it. Was thinking maybe full bolt ons and an FP green setup in the future as well. Luckily i have a truck daily and a 17 gt-r to enjoy so ill be able to keep the mileage relatively low. My main goal is to own these 2 cars along side an R34 gt-r. Not trying to hijack your thread but heres what she looks like now!

Nice collection you got there it sounds like man! And that things clean! Those bolt ons sound just about right. Should definitely still hold value for the beer future even with those parts added I’d say.

I've seen all out builds sell for that much but, even stock IX MRs w/low miles don't go for that much atm. Maybe it is my area haha
