03' Evo Rusted - looking for insight on sale price
TL;DR is below. Looking to see if i am being offered a fair price for my rusted evo 03 with 81k on the odo. A gentlemen who works a motorsport place i visited today, his buddy offered 8k cash for my evo. I know at this point its a little moot but i also would like a fair assesment or try for one. The outside is very clean and the inside is equally clean. Pictures can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/y6a7nq7p
I realize there is more to the pictures that you can't see. Like there is some subframe rust, too but this is the best i could get. Could anyone give me some advice on whether the 8k is a fair price or should i be asking more. Something around $9-10k? I may even throw it up on the classifieds section...
TL;DR About 3 years ago in 2017 my mechanic friend noticed i had some rust underneath my car. He suggested some materials to help. Myself being lazy and not having the space to apply coating on my car. I wound up taking it to Mitsubishi for a recall and free oil change. I asked them to coat the bottom. They came back and said the car was fine. In late summer 2019 my car broke down and i needed a tow. The driver exclaimed how much rust was underneath my car and questioned the structural integrity for a tow.
My said mechanic friend was going to help but said let's work on it in the Spring of next year. Well, covid hit and he had a baby, so working on others cars was out of the question. Today, i took the car to a recommended mechanic and the outlook isn't great. At least not for me considering i am hurting financially and my new business isn't gaining traction as fast as id like. Now, for someone who likes to work on cars this is a great project.

Decently low miles and THE PERFECT candidate for chassis swap...10k all day, 8 is tryna buttstuff ya a little bit.
Go price out parts.
Engine? 3-5k
Trans/tcase/diff? 2-3k
You see where this all adds up. If I were you I'd sit on it and keep your eyes peeled for a roller, you should be able to haggle a good price because you can get a practically naked frame.
Or sell, but no less than 10k. It IS an Evo after all.

Outside photos of car would help but my opinion (assuming a clean title):
8k is a great deal for the buyer and a low to almost fair price for you.
10k could be had rather quickly as is, but could be a hassle dealing with the actual sale.
10-11k parting out, but that will obviously involve more work and even more sales hassle for you.
12-13k if you have time to wait for the right buyer and can handle all the "ahha rusted junk only worth 5k" BS type of comments.
Either-way, props to you for being a honest seller. I think a lot people would ignore the rust underneath, only post exterior pics and try to sell for 15k.

Here are the exterior and interior pics (was too lazy to get keys for inside) if you care to view. It's currently parked under a tree that gets bird crap on it all day, just havent been able to keep up and its filthy. https://tinyurl.com/y6ff8dlq
I'm not sure i want to part it out. I'm so lazy but its definitely another option in the mix. Albeit, at the way bottom.

Personally, I'd list it for sale for 12.5k (with under photos included!)and see what happens.
A salvage, crashed evo would sell for more at an auction. I'd definitley reject the offer.. even if it were non running parts car it's worth a minimum of 10k. Regardless of rust. If you're not desperate for cash and have the luxury of waiting awhile I'm sure it will be picked up for near 15k. Or part out.
Appreciate both responses @DontStopMe and @AllAccessedEvolution Im starting to get all my paperwork in order and will take more pictures and begin listing it.
Really appreciate the help and any future replies - thank you.

I would contact someone who does abrasive blasting and clean it up. There's some deep scaly rust in spots like behind the front lower control arms, but the rear looks like mostly surface rust. The most important spots for rust are where the rear subframe connects to the body. Judging off the rust pictured, I can imagine that popular rust point is pretty bad. I wouldn't take less than 10k for that car.
