Fuel issue Help

Hello Everyone,

having fuel issue on my Evo 9 and looking for advice/help. Fuel setup is as follow:

Evo 8/9 BPR Dual Modify 255s
FIC 2150CC
AMS Fuel Rail
Raduim micron filter
-6 Feed and -4 return
Maperformance Fuellab FPR kit
Pump E85

With ignition turned to “On” I do not have any fuel pressure or any fuel coming out of the feed line. But once i crank it there’s fuel coming through but car wont start unless using starting fluid. Once the car starts with the starting fluid the car will idle forever until it runs out of gas or i turn it off. Could this be a fuel pump issue? Just confuse as i thought if the fuel pump is bad the car will not stay on.

This is normal for the Evo 8/9. Fuel pump is not active on key on, only when cranking or after it fires up. If you want to test pressure use the EvoScan actuator feature to activate the fuel pump with key on.

About 35-36 psi once i get the car started with starter fluid. I know its suppose to be at 43psi. But how do i adjust it at this point if i cant get pressure without starting the car?

43.5 is the base pressure but with 35psi the car should still start up as per tuner. Ill adjust it to 43psi and see. Might have a ****ty fpr.

Is your Bpr setup wired correctly? If I recall correctly you need power ground and igniton to make it work. I would start there and make sure the connections are correct. You should get the primary pump to prime on key on. If no key on prime then thats the issue and it is why the car has very low fuel pressure. Where did you ground your wire to the fuel pumps? From BPR wiring should go neg wire should go to battery neg terminal, positive should go to the positive side of the battery and the last wire to the ignition side of it.

Hmm interesting i put the negative terminal to where the negative battery wire is grounded to on the chassis. It should be the same no? Ill ask Alex (owner of BPR). Ill also change it and see what happens.

Well I am a dumb ***. Info I gave you was for the ign-1a coils. Looking at my other notes at the bottom of the page, yeah I grounded to the seat belt bolt. Sorry about that. I hate giving bad info this one is on me.

Case Closed. Worked with Alex from Bullet Proof Racing and figure out there was too much fuel and had to adjust FPR lol…. Now to the tune. Thanks guys.
