Oil temp gauge

Hey guys,

i have the MR gauge package that includes the Oil temp. I always thought it didn’t work because it would always stay all the way to the left. Recently however after my recent oil change, I noticed while driving that the temp was reading all the way to the right, past 130C.

I am thinking there has to be an issue with the sensor because my engine temps are normal. I would think at an oil temp that high it would start heating up my coolant system as well. Am I correct in thinking that?

You aren't going to get temperatures that high while just driving around town

Mine used to work every once in a while. I know they are known to crap out, but never dug too deep to see if the sensor was bad or maybe a loose connection.

Wires run behind glove box and through fender I believe. There's a pigtail that joins them. How does the wires look at the back of the oil drain plug? they usually get beat up.

looks pretty beat up. I cooled the car down and the gauge still read 130C so no way it’s right. Have to get it fixed. Thanks guys!
