Evo 2.3 stroker best street turbo AGT Or FP

What bolt on turbo do you guys use for 2.3 stroker for street. I need something that spool pretty fast and can make 470-500hp on E85. Any of you guys use Agt turbo? I found Agt 52mm turbo and they are cheap but is the spool and power similar to Fp turbos? I think Agt 52 is similar to Fp green. Or is it better to go with fp red or Agt 55mm on 2.3? Thanks!

I don't have experience with a 2.3 but have looked at a lot of the dyno results posted here. From what I can tell, something green sized will choke the motor out in the higher rpm ranges. You'd probably be better served going for something like a red sized turbo on a 2.3.

AGT 55 or 57 for more top end. The 55 flows the same as the FP red and will do those numbers on e85 no problem, check out the dyno results page on AGT website. AGT 55 on a 2.3 powerband would make a v8 blush.

Thank you for replay. Is it me or for some reason when I look at the dyno graph's from Agt turbo's looks like they have slower spool then Fp turbo's?? A lot of dyno graph's from agt 52mm I see full boost at around 4300-4500rpm depend on cams and engine size. I think fp green can have full boost way below 4k if I am right.

Thank you for your reply. Yes that's what I was also thinking. For 2.3 I think fp red would suit the best. I am wondering about Agt turbo's. From dyno graph's I can tell that same size Agt turbos have slower spool that Fp turbo's. I was wondering because a lot of people using Agt but I think because of the cheaper price.

I have a old style BB FP Black, and it goes great with the 2.3!

my last build was a 2.3L and one of the turbos I ran on that setup was an FP JB MHI HTA Green. Felt like stock turbo spool but with more power. would recommend

I've only noticed that with AGT's single scroll turbine dyno results which I would expect to see. Of course the tune in each case will effect how it spools too. Most of those graphs dont show the boost plot unfortunately but if you're making 300tq at 3500rpm you're most likely 20psi+ already at that point. Look at the 5th graph down, its a 2.3 with the 55mm turbo and even though they started the pull at 3000rpm its still spooling up making 300tq by 3500rpm, 567whp/574tq peak and carries a flat powerband to redline. FP green will usually do 300tq at 3400-3700rpm on a 2.0 and a red 300tq at 3700-4000rpm on a 2.0

At around what rpm do you have full boost on 2.3?

FP Red or black for sure.

AGT doesn't really do as well. Unless it a final destination tune with 15* static timing and the wastegate bolted shut.

That's what I was thinking. Also I thing spool on Agt turbos is slower then fp if I am correct. Never had agt turbo but looking on some dyno graphs looks like fp turbos for a win. Thanks!

FP spools up well. I ran a few over the years with the SS and MHI housing on a 2.2 mivec. Sean also ran one. Nearly instant response and a wide powerband. 4000 is a party. You can powerslide the car in 2nd no problem.

My Evo8 currently have RRE built 2.3 with MHI 18k. Very responsive. Spool at 3200-3500, making 400whp/400lbft on 91 and 460whp/410lbft on e85 before running out of fuel due to injectors limit. Could be around 500whp with bigger injectors and a bit more boost (currently 23.3 psi on e85). Used to have HKS GT-II 7460 making similar power before it broke. MHI 18k works well for me so far.

I feel like the 2.3 With a FP Red would be the most fun street car. With an Fblack depending be pushing 600Hp.
