i haven't really seen anything other than Evolution 8's on this forum. anyone here own anything older? i, myself, and in love with the IV, and hopefully, will be building a USDM replica of one, using a 97 Mirage, as a frame.

 

Well, have a VII but not that much different from a VIII except that I have an RS2 with ACD and AYC. I have seen pople on here with all from early I-III to middle IV-VI and newer VII up to VIII.

 

wow man you have a VII sometiems i think i should of gotten a VII -- how much did you pay and how youget it -i mean if you live in the USA??

By the time your done doing the conversion, your probably better off just buying a new Evo VIII or an MR when they come out.

The conversion process from going to a '97 Mirage 4 door to a Evo IV is very painsteaking, since it involves ALOT of fabrication work especially for the fitting in of the rear axle to a mirage from what ive seen, and you also need to find a decent donor Evo IV either overseas or somebody in the US who deals with grey imports.

But hey, if you have the patience, time, money and skill to do it, have fun.

 

i second that, i was going to do the same thing, with a 1g GSX as the donor car.....man.. it was too much work when i saw the estimates. so i ended up selling them both and buying an VIII

nice one mate. in my eyes one of the best looking EVOs on the road.

there isnt much on here about the earlier stuff because you guys have only just got them.

try MLR (Mitsubishi Lancer Register) www.lancerregister.com as we have had the EVO for 8 or 9 years now so there is much more knowlage of the earlier stuff. ask mosses on what he is doing (he is on here to as moses evo). he has some major plans for his IV!

i was probably gonna go with whatever i could find more parts for -- probably the RS. BTW, thanks for the links! the reason i was gonna build one, by hand, is so that i could say that i built it.. but, hell, if it really is gonna cost as much as having one imported, i'll just do that. lol. now, to see if they search out for cars, like MotoRex does, for Skylines.. lol.
