Also, this thread serves as a general reminder that if you do not have the correct tool for the job, buy it! Don't attempt to use something that is close enough or something that might work....You risk damaging parts on your car and/or possibly injuring yourself in the process.

And most times, the cost to purchase the correct tools is much less than the cost of replacing broken car parts or paying a medical bill!

maybe its rusted? either way try spraying some WD40 .. let it sit for a few then try with the correct socket....

pb blaster! and leave it for few min use 17mm socket! dont use other tools like claps or whatever it will just fup the screw. Use pray bar make sure you turn it the right direction, also make sure to get new screw from mitsu dont use the same one anymore... good luck.

I got it out, lol, and bought a new one. Very true, don't use the wrong tools... Stupid me.

Hey guys....I really don't think that it was rusted or seized. You are dealing with a bolt that goes into an oily, well lubricated part of the car. It was more than likely screwed back in place with an air impact wrench at the dealership....and over torqued.

If he was using a pair of channel locks to undo the bolt, he was likely not able to build up enough torque before the tool began skipping over the bolts head.

Hey Nite...I am glad you were able to get the bolt replaced. Now just make sure when you torque it back down, you don't ever do it also.
