Oil drain plug STUCK!!!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY SCREW?!?!?!? I've been at it for 2 hours now and its almost stripped bare and hasn't budged once. So I did the first oil change myself and it wasn't this hard and I went to mitsu for my 2nd one. Did they do this to screw me or something?!?! The thing hasn't moved a bit. What the **** is wrong with it? What do I do now?

Okay, you need to stop trying.

#1. Are you using the correct socket?

#2. Are you opening or closing it by the way you're turning it?

#3. Are you using a breaker bar?

Stupid questions, but have to know what you're doing.

No, I don't have the correct socket, but I'm using one of those clamp wrenches aaannnd... i THINK i'm turnin it the right way. counterclockwise to get it out right?! Counterclockwise while lying on the ground facing up. What's this about breaker bar?

Okay, you need to stop using your channel locks. They won't hold and they'll strip out the oil pan drain bolt.

You need a socket and a ratchet.

http://g6civcx.napalm.net/tech/ratchet.htm

Use a breaker bar and a ratchet and socket to open it, assuming that it will still hold with the stripped plug.

I suggest that you replace it with a new drain plug from the Mitsubishi parts counter.

Is this your first oil change?

No, this is my 2nd change. I used the same thing for my 1st change... I do have a ratchet set, but none of them are the correct size. I'm one size under what I need. =(

It's really easy if you have the right tools. I can change oil without ever raising up the front end of the Evo.

I suggest you go buy a new drain plug before you continue. It sounds like you stripped it pretty badly.

If it won't come off, take it into a shop and they can get it out for you. Better than ruining your oilpan.

Use a 17mm socket with six point configuration so not to strip your drain plug. Warm up the engine then shut it down, to make it easier to remove the drainplug. goodluck!
