Some insurance companies will insure addons you make to the car. Just bring in all your receits at the time of purchase take pics and if nessasary let the agent see the car. It might cost an extra few dollars a month to insure these things but it really is the only safe way of doing things I tried alarm systems I have used kill switches and hardware security devices and still have had my car busted into 2 times stereo etc all stolen. that really pissed me off after droping bout 1000 bucks into security systems. No I say **** it. I showed my insurance company the stereo I put in my EVO they took copies of the reciepts and said if anything happens to it they will pay full current value of anything damaged or taken.

thats a defeatist attitude. if someone really wants my car they can have it, but that agreement is contingent upon the receiving party accepting several shot gun blasts to the head.

i got the compustar alarm. forgot the range but the walls in my apartment are so thin it can page me wherever i am.

before that i lived 8 stories high in an apartment and the parking garage was one the 2nd floor. i was able to remote start it near the window, but whenver i was in the middle of the floor in that building, it couldn't reach it. probably the material the building is made out of makes a difference.

i'd consider getting one of these - supposedly has the furthest range out of all of them. i think i got the top model WRSS or something. check it out.

but beware of the installation - its complicated and might get pricey. i posted the problems i had when i brought it to a shop for turbo timer/remote starter installation.

dude I know it is to have you car stolen right in front of you. Some jerk off stole my SI while i lived in san diego. I just think SoCal is just hardcore in stealing cars. I would suggest on a good 2 way alarm from any DEI company. I have the clifford matrix and love it. I live in a apartment complex and the other night my alarm went off but couldnt hear the actual alarm but the pager went off and i came out running with my bat only to find someone just bumped my car hahaha....

But I think the Sparco steering wheel be removed would just **** a would-be thief off. He may just break your windows and key your car just to be an ***, cause he wanted to steal you car but couldn't!

Id agree with MaxR. This is totally defeatist. Its as bad as saying, "Since i can only lock 9 out of 10 of the doors in my house, I won't lock any of them" since people can break in if they really want to.

You can still lessen the likelihood of them doing so.
