If I had the chance to get the infinity option in my 03, I will go for it! They are pretty good.

in my 03 the sound system absolutely sucked......SUCKED. I replaced it with infinity kappa speakers and PG amps and subs with a pioneer head unit. It sounded amazing till it got stolen.

In my 05 i was very impressed with the stereo compared to the 03. It sounds MUCH better and the sub isn't bad. Like Sentinal said...a stock stereo usually will not compare with a properly set up aftermarket system....but the infinity system sounds good IMO. The only thing i have done with it is i upgraded the head unit to a pioneer AVIC-N1. With that head unit it sounds even better and although still isn't the same as my system in my 03...i am happy.

BUT......Although Rockford Fosgate is overrated and i wouldn't buy it in a store........The Rockford system (Stock) in my Nissan Xterra is fantastic. Kicks the crap out of my Evo system even with the two thousand dollar head unit. The rockford system in my Xterra sounds 10 times better than my buddy's 2002 BMW 330ci with the harmon kardon system...

see i'm really curious to know if the plugs are in a 03 evo for the sound package. basicly i want to know will i need the oem wires or are they in the 03. basicly i have the headunit, amp, and sub from a sound package but not the wire kit. im not sure if it is there. please can some one help me out. the 03 sound sucks and i dont want to put any aftermarket sound systems in it. they always get stolen where i live so this is my only option.

on the '05! Plus it sounds even better when you drop an aftermarket reciever w/ EQ in there.

Sorry, but are those replacement gauge faces? Where did you get them and how much?

My step dads SC430 with the Mark Levinson stereo is about the only stock system I have ever heard that really impressed me. As for the 03 Evo's I don't think it sounds all that bad with a cd in there.... of course it all depends on what you are listening to.

I also have the Infinity system and would like to get an Alpine Head Unit and the Ipod connector. I wanted to know if you needed to rewire the speakers when you switch out the head unit. Does anyone know the answer to this? Can you get an adapter to fix this problem?

There is no amp in the Sub enclosure just to let you know. It is powered of the amp under the seat.

If you opt for the 6 disc cd changer, do you loose the cubby hole space for gauges?

The only bad thing about the Sun and sound package that i got for my 05 was that the sub enclosure in the trunk blocks putting a rear strut tower bar in. Right now I'm trying to see what I can do for adjusted brackets to get it working with the bar installed but they had to design it to clear the spare tire from the factory so the shape is all screwy. Likely I'll keep the spare out of the car and throw a can of fix a flat in the trunk. Overall the upgraded Infinity sounds system is decent for factory unit but I may be forced to install a seperate bazooka tube and amp which will allow me to remove it for racing much easier and still leave room for my battery relocation.
