Didn't Buschur run a 12.9 against Al in the first round of Evo competition?
I wasn't there when that car leaked oil so i guess now i know why everyone started walking towards the stands to check out what was happening on the track.

Anyway, I think you're right about Buschur EVO. I don't remember the specifics but I thank that AL was low 12s and Bushur high 12s.

Do you know if TurboTrix ran earlier. I got to the track around 11 so I'm not sure if I missed it.

If they ran I missed them as well

How many Evo's do you think there were there? Maybe 40 or so? Didn't see as many as I thought I would. Only like 10% of the Evo's it seemed were actually drag racing.

the turbotrix evo broke during Q16 10:00 qualifying. Still ran like a 10.2 blowing smoke the whole way, probably was a head gasket.

Everything was rained out, 8 cars left in the Q16, DSE wasn't complete, and I don't think the brackets were complete either.

Al definately red lit in the final, I'm not sure who's car won though.

the guy triggering the tree was in a hurry all day. Light the staging lights, before you could move your foot off the brake the yellows were up. He caught me off guard and I saw him catch some other people off guard too.

It was a pretty good event before the rain started.

Kurt Brown beat Al in the finals in Evo Eliminator. I beat the guy with the black Evo (temp tags) mentioned above in Evo Stock Appearing. Turnout was FAR less than I was expecting, it was very disappointing. The fast cars were there and that was about it. Where were all the e-racers?

That's probably because they knew Mitsu was around writing down plate and vin numbers

Did you guys see that 1st Gen DSM have that nitrous explosion? Never seen anything like that in my life! The car caught on fire right after the explosion. The driver was okay.

He broke something in the driveline, stalled, tried to restart with the nitrous still armed, tapped the gas and BOOM! Blew the endcap right off the intake manifold, damage under the hood didn't look too terrible, except some charred wiring and the intake manifold.

Another reason not to run nitrous

i thought there were pleanty of evo's out, but not racing. the shootout itself was a letdown this year. no "go big" guys were running due to various problems or schedule conflicts. i tell you what though, it was funny going to buschur's shop friday & sat & seeing more evo's than dsm's. those guys are pretty cool there (always have been). helped out a lot with the "weekend makeover" of my evo.

i tell you what, i think that there were more evo's racing the streets of norwalk at night than there were running at the shootout. i dunno if i talked to anyone on here at the shootout over the weekend.....name is chad, black evo, running with 8 or so various dsm's. might have spoke to a few of ya or gave ya the big thumbs up on the road. camped at lake le mar or something or other. there were some evo's at the campgrounds. in all fun weekend....like it could ever not be?

To clear up confusion, there where two silver EVO's with AMS stickers on them. One with the carbon fiber hood and aftermarket front bumper and our with stock hood and bumper. I ran a 10.6 in practice but I pooched the launch and got beat by the other car with AMS stickers. The other car with AMS stickers is Chris B's car and his friend Adam was driving the snot out of it. He ran a 10.8's in practice and some more high 10 second passes during the day and against Al. He's still running stock ignition and we couldn't crank the boost up because it was just blowing the spark out, not bad for 31-32 psi!! Congrats!!

The highest boost I ran was about 34psi on the last run and I hit 135.X mph with a completely botched launch. On the 10.6 second pass I was runing 31-32 psi and trapped 132.93mph. I never got a chance to run the car at full potential (39-40psi) but from judging how fast it was going it should have hit almost 140mph at full steam. The event was a blast and too bad it rained.
