I was there, but with no race gas. My best was a 12.5, then I had to race one of the AMS Evo's and missed 2nd, then 3rd. I lost but it was a ton of fun meeting everyone on here.
Al and AMS congrats on the 10's, I hope to be there some day also.
The guy with the black Evo and MR tails had made it to the final round with a stock turbo. He was racing against mostly people that had an upgraded turbo system. Congrats to that guy! The rain sucked at the end but it was still a great day.
Next time I hope to have my race gas map with me and then I'll be able to keep up with you guys. Until then if you don't have race gas you don't stand a chance in those competitions.
Also on the way home I blew out my passenger side tire 1 mile from home. Thats the end to my stock tires. I put 17500 miles, won two events, and drove to then raced at 10 different tracks on my stock tires. Nice job Yokohama!

It was a good weekend guys! Thanks to all of you that drove all the way and all of those that flew in. It was nice meeting alot of the people I talk to on the phone and getting to hang out with you all. I just wish that our cars would have ran better. Just a few problems but thats how racing goes. The Burnouts in the Econolodge parking lot on Friday night was NUTS!Goodtimes Goodtimes !!!!!Congrats to Big Al on the 10 sec. pass. I hope to see you all back next year, and thanks again! Take Care

Decent event. I’d say one of the better ones in my book.

The things that impressed me the most for the weekend was:
· Kiggly’s 9 sec pass in his FWD auto Laser.
· Adam’s 9.6 in his Evo2 with both rear tires rubbing against the fender causing sooooo much smoke all down the track
· Mike Reichen’s 10.2 in a dying Talon (weird watching him trying to fill water into his radiator and watching it flow right out his wastegate ump tube)
· The NOS explosion on track
· My wife (only woman racing there?) taking second spot in Stock Appearing in her GVR4
· Night before the shootout at the Econolodge (no written encounter can confer the atmosphere there)
· Adam’s (Evo2) encounter with police at the Econolodge when he was preparing for a burnout

Everything else was ah-ight, and will be probably forgotten in the next few days (old age )..

Peace.

Meta, you sure are hard to please. How did you do? Your car should be adequately broken in by now. You repeatedly challenged others to go to this shootout and then you weren't even there yourself as either a competitor or as a spectator? What gives?

Heh, I was sick, I couldn't make it out (11 hours of driving). I don't think my car is capable of anything spectacular (mid to low 12) in a straight line, it's really a Buschur Stage 1 car with a built engine and EMS. I wasn't knocking the AMS car at all, it was more of suprise than anything, because when they had 600whp they ran 10.8 at 134, so a 10.9 didn't make sense. I thought they might have a shot at running a 9. But apparently both their car and Buschur's both had a few slight setbacks and as Jarrod said that's the way racing goes sometimes. I wasn't challenging anyone myself, I just wanted to see a full field of heavily modified cars (but I didn't make it anyhow). But I will make it to the September 11th shootout. Ideally maybe we could see Boost Solutions, Pruvens car, AMS, Buschur, Quantum Racing, Vishnu's, Dynoflash and all the other big guns.

Anyway, I think you're right about Buschur EVO. I don't remember the specifics but I thank that AL was low 12s and Bushur high 12s.

Do you know if TurboTrix ran earlier. I got to the track around 11 so I'm not sure if I missed it.
Was Dave driving his Evo? He has never been able to drive stick all that well, and will readily admit it.

I don't think Kevin is still running an auto. Too many broken flexplates.

In relation to Kevin's Laser ... still an unbelievable performance.

I should have added Sean Ivey's 150mph pass in his Talon to my list above. Actually got to talk to Sean, man that guys is one big *****, an easy +250lbs.

And one hell of a nice (and smart) guy, to boot. Ask him about anything on his car, and he will happily give you a brain dump.

And not to take this thread away from it's main topic, but there are others (DSM racers), that are far quicker, that WON'T tell you diddily

Man, I need to make my posts more exciting or controversial because nobody seems to even read them :-) If you look one page back, our customer (Chris B) with the EVO 8 that made a little over 600 all wheel horsepower on the dyno at 34-35psi (with slight ignition misses) ran a 10.8 sec pass at the shootout. This weekend his ignition was flaky and he could only run a little over 30psi at the shootout though so he was not at full power! This is the car that raced Al in the semi-finals.

Our car, the AMS shop car, the silver car with big AMS stickers on the side and that made 667whp at 39-40psi of boost also ran in the 10's this weekend. At 31-32psi of boost (about 590-600whp) I ran a 10.63 second pass at 132.8 mph. Next run I turned the boost up to about 34psi and had a horrible launch (2.11 60' time) and ran an 11.2 at 135mph & 104.5mph in the 1/8th. The car never ran at full power this weekend. I think I got the launch figured out now and we're going back to the track this week for some high boost fun!
Then the cage goes in, nitrous and a few other small changes to get ready for the Sept 11 event.

Heh, nothing controversial, we just want to see someone run a 9 in a full street evo! Anyhow I think Curt Browns 11.5 on the stock Turbo is pretty amazing (basically just a BR Stage 4 car with a magnus intake manifold).
