I think Curt Browns 11.5 on the stock Turbo is pretty amazing (basically just a BR Stage 4 car with a magnus intake manifold).

Anybody know the exact setup Curt Brown's has on his stock turbo? 11.5 on stock turbo is amazing?

Yes, I asked him the other day in the private for sale, it's a Buschur Stage 4, AEM EMS, Magnus Intake (Plus RRE Suspension).

It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Brown - he is a realy fierce competitor and very focused on what he wants to do with his evo.

Its a pity that I did not have the satisfaction to complete a pass against him in the final.

My clutch line was cracked through haste in the last minute clutch install we did last week the day before I left for the shootout and it was lasking fluid all day.

Thanks to Dave and Dan Buschur for helping me to bleed the lines between rounds - however by the finals the crack had gotten worse and as I was holding down the clutch staging the fluid wasleaking out and the clutch started to engage early pushing me through the lights and triggering the dreaded red light

I have some interesting stories to post up about the shootout - it was without a doubt once again the best day of my entire life - I'll post up some stuff later when I have some more time

Im the mean time - I am offering a FREE Dyno Flash fro anyone who first locates a video of my run against the AMS car - I got to see that pass !

Wow last years DSM Shoot Out, the fastest EVOs were in the 11s, now just one year later, 4 EVOs run 10s, absolutely amazing the progress. I wonder how many EVOs will be running 10s and lower in next years competition. By the way, we are still waiting for the first street legal or street driven 10 Second STI, SRT-4, 350Z, and RX-8, will that day ever come?

I had no idea that I was talking to Curt in the staging lanes when I asked him what his setup was. In the AM time trials I ran with him and he trapped at 120 mph. When asked about his car, he told me it was stock. After some more questioning he told me he had an AEM, and then he walked away. He was very tight-lipped about what he had done.

The fascinating aspect of all this was - as I was told - that Dave Buschur had actually tuned Mr. Brown's car with the AEM earlier in the week and also my car ! So both cars in the finals had Buschur exhuasts and AEM tunes !

From what I gatherd like 5 of the cars in the Evo Eliminator had a Dave Buschur tune in them with the AEM

I am sure the others can verify - having Dave Buschur sitting in your passenger seat tuning your AEM is a very amazing opportunity.

The most amazing part - which I still can not beleive - is that Dave was telling me me he tunes ALL his customers for FREE! Absolutely insane

Yes - actually it amazes me also.

I can tell you this - is was super easy to get my evo into the 11's lasy year with the stock block - head and ecu

The year of work to get it into the 10's with a nice power band and good reliability was a LOT more effort and expense

I wonder if I will be into the 9's without NOS by next year?

I just compiled a video of some test and tune runs of the Evos from the shootout. Can anyone host? It's 13 MB and it has a 10.91 second run of an AMS car. I am ready to upload.

Me also - I want to see that run that I had against the AMS car - with out a doubt the most exhilerating and exciting moment I have ever lived. It was so close it was sick. I wish I could figure out a way to post my AEM data logs up here so you guys could see ho fast I was jammin those shifts on that run. Nothing like a real hard competitor to drive you to rise to a new level !

That is a good plan and I hope you do make it to the event on the 11th

Your turbo kit you designed yourself is really an amazing unit. On a total race gas only tune I think you could pick up nearly 30 more whp just from the added timing.
