Incidentally, I played around with tons of different ways to get my video camera to mount and none of them really worked. Also, my boost does essentially the exact same thing, so I think it's just right!

I mounted it with my hands

I hand my right hand on the camera and the steering wheel. The camera was resting on the flat part of the steering wheel.

The car was not idling. At idle, my car reads around 19-20 for vac

Ok... I'll have to try that. I had a kid sit in the back seat and try to hold the camera and the passenger's seat, but shifting from 2nd to 3rd the camera whacked him in the face. Plus that's 200 extra pounds.

I don't have a manual boost controller, but I do have the exact same gauge as you along with the WORKS P2 and 3" buschur TB exhaust. Doing the same thing you did in 3rd gear my car actually spikes to about 21psi momentarily then falls to about 18 for a second then climbs back up to about 19/20 all the way to 78000rpm. I think you are fine with your current setup. Also once the car is warmed up my vacuum is around 19.

I actually kinda did something similar with my old 95 Integra GS-R. Just held the video cam on the steering wheel. No passenger needed hehe Have a look if you want. Its only 1.4mb and yes the car was modified otherwise the redline would have only been 8000
