most people (and me) use the shorter hose, immediately to the right of the dip stick handle in that picture.

It will work but you might get fluctuations from the FPR.

Both are ok. Just one isnt as accurate. I had tapped into the one closest to the dipstick and when revved it in neutral it would say i was boosting 10psi. I changed it to the hose one up from the dipstick and its been perfect.

The FPR line has been known to make the boost gauge "stick" if you drive the car, turn it off, then turn it back on again shortly after and drive it again.

should I look into replacing the line running to the fuel pressure reg. and tap into the one listed above. thanks for the help. I haven't had any problems with it. my car will also reach around 10psi if I rev the engine in neutral, but the car is building boost because my bov blows off.

I dont think its a big deal. Thats how they were tapped in on the 1g and 2gs. There shouldnt be boost building up in neutral, atleast i dont believe. When you tap the other line, you can revv it as high and as long as you want and it wont go past 0. You could just switch the hoses, i believe(its what i did). Instead of having to get new hoses.

aiight... new question.
i have it the way most people do. (shorter hose ..right of the dipstick)
i get a consistant reading but its not accurate.
i get a reading of 22 psi tapering down to 19 by redline.
my boost is set to 19.5
i have an autometer ultra lite and the vacum hose is a clear plastic hose that is very thin and cheap looking.
would changing this hose to a rubber vac line help my readings?
