warranty voided for not getting oil change at dealer
I'm not disagreeing that Wal*Mart brand 10W30 isn't the same as a full synthetic, but to say that it HAS to be Mobil 1 and only Mobil 1 can't be right. Why not Castrol's synthetic, or Red Line
Whoo boy...here we go again. Why *not* use Mobil1? Why *not* use the factory filter?
I can understand being chapped about the dealer charging 1000 bucks a quart for oil but seriously - Mobil1 is factory fill in Porsches, Vettes, and Evos. Why second guess the folks that won all those rallys? 2 cents and change.

More to the point- why does this oil change have to be done at the dealership in order to not void the warranty.
If I buy a Porsche or a Vette, do I lose my warranty if I do my own oil change? Or does the dealership do them for free for the life of my exceptionally-expensive piece of automotive engineering?
