Thumbs up Mod friendly dealers

Hey guys I thought we should start a thread about dealers that won't void your warranty over mods. I'm currently at Giuffre Mitsubishi getting my oil changed, so I figured I'd ask the service manager if modifying the car with things like intake or exhaust will void warranty. The guy was really cool and quickly answered no,in fact they want to sell you these things and will install them for you if you bring them. He said he's into all that stuff but said and as long as it was installed right it's ok. He mentioned they have 2 guys which they sent to school and they are the only ones even allowed to touch an Evo. I feel good now knowing I can modify the car without having to worry that I'm going to get screwed out of warranty. Anyways maybe we can get this or another thread stickied with the addresses of mod friendly dealers. Their address is listed below.

Giuffre Mitsubishi service center
438 88 street
Bayridge, NY

I was told by my dealer anything cat-back was alright exhaust wise. Intakes were OK and a few other things. But I'm pretty skeptical since it was the salesman telling me this and not the Service Director.

This was told to me by the service manager, he runs the service center so I would assume at least some of it is true. Anyways I'm happy how everything turned out. They did the flash update on the car, the car pulls harder they gave me a free wash, oil change and a free bottle of turtle wax. The car wash could've been a little better but I don't really care it was much clear then when it went in and they're not a car wash they're a service center so who cares.

Anyways according to the service manager he has a Mustang and he's into tuning and aftermarket parts so he's not an *** about that stuff.

The whole point of the thread is obviously there are some dealers that can't see any modification on the car or they'll void your warranty. By sticking to only places that allow these modifications we can all benefit of modifying the car and not having to get stressed out about dealers voiding warranty or undoing all the mods before dealer visits.

this has been covered many times before. the dealership will have to proof that your modifications caused a problem with your car in order to void your warranty.

I'd like to have a figure on how many actually do? I say 99% of us get turned away with NO PROOF!

Besides, we just can't wait around and have our car sit at a dealership for weeks/months while the case is in litigation. We just don't have that kind of time to wait for our cars to get fixed. What kind of world do you think this is???

It just doesn't happen....if they want to deny us warranty, they will!

Unless somehow you can get it in writing that they will cover it. Then you hae a much easier case if they decide to not cover something.

Guys, it is not the dealership that you need to worry about if something big breaks, it is the District Manager. It does not matter what the dealership says once he or she makes a decision as the DM represents Mitsubishi. If the DM says no go then the dealership themselves would have to take on the expense of the repair.

Just a FYI.....
