How To: Change your Brake lines
Over the weekend I did my first time attack on a small road course. 5 laps per session @70mph tops. Within the first 5 laps, I was already experiencing brake fade and then as I got back to the parking lot, the brake pedal was mushy. My buddy recorded my laps, seeing my rotors glow red and sparks flying out of the front brakes, like an angle grinder going at it. Apparently, at extreme temperatures exhibited at time attacks, the fluid can boil and can make the stock rubber lines expand, causing this mushy pedal.
Sounds like time for brake upgrades. Are your brembos "brownbos" yet?
Consider Motul 600 high temp fluid, even then you will want to bleed after every high temp event. It keeps the fluid clean and ready.
Club racing pads are also a great investment. Ferodo D2500 pads will give you great stopping power without as much rotor wear or squealing as Hawk HP+.
Another great upgrade is a set of titanium shims from Girodisc. They help with the heat absorbed by the caliper

Quick lesson learned here: I started to do this Saturday and you need a flare nut wrench, 10mm. A regular 10mm wrench will strip the hard line connection if it stuck (and mine was). I even tried liquid wrench with no luck. So I went out and got the flare nut wrench, but haven't had a chance to try again.
Also, use 3/16" clear tubing (Home Depot, Lowes, etc) for a catch can. I drilled a 5/16" hole in the cap of a water bottle and poked an air hole next to it in the cap. Put the line in the big hole (very tight fit) and you're done. Fits over the bleed nipple very tight.

I have also rounded the bolt on mine, how did you go about replacing the nut?
