Request: AP Steel Braided Clutch Line Install
Was wondering if anyone can hook me up with a step-by-step (pics would help a lot) of the removal & install of the Clutch line? Thanks!!!
no pics but heres a quick how-to. note: hope u or someone u know has small hands
1. remove intake pipe
2. remove battery (optional if u want more room to work with), i'd suggest just removing it along with the battery tray.
3. hard part: u have options. You can either try to stick a open end wrench and try to unbolt the bolt of the line thats holding it onto the master cylinder near the firewall or do what i did cuz it was impossible....go inside the car, under the dash, locate the clutch rod, adjust it all the way so the clutch rod extends towards the engine, unbolt the 2 14 or 12mm bolts holding the master cylinder to the firewall and sorta push it towards the engine.
4. go back in the bay and now try to unbolt the bolt thats holding the line to the cylinder, after MANY tries and headaches, u should be able to get it off, twist it off then d/c the rubber line from the hardline which is around the tranny area. get ur SS clutch line and now try to get it onto the master cylinder which is gonna be a pain, if i were u, i'd use my hands to thread it on there by hand, MUCh easier, then once its on, torque it down. now connect the SS line tot he stock hard line.
5. now re-attatch the master cylinder and adjust the clutch rod so theres less play on the clutch (by twisting the clutch rod until theres less play on clutch and tighten the 12mm nut thats on the back end of the rod)
6. bleed clutch ( u can use the search feature to find how to, its really easy, takes about 10minutes tops)
7. put the intake and battery back on and ur done.
