Will the OPTIMA red top fit in the original place in the original battery box in the engine compartment....Optimas have about the highest heat tolerance of any battery.

I can't get enough room on the drivers side or passenger side to mount this battery box. Are you installing this without the trunk carpet panelling? There just isn't enough metal to install this tray in the trunk. I wanted to install it on the passenger side but I would only be able to drill one hole. Did the IX rear tailight house change from the VIII? Did you hammer in the metal taillight housing?

I used this exact kit for my Optima Yellow top! I mounted mine on the right side through the frame rails though.

i've heard that passenger side trunk mounting is better for overall balance because it's opposite the driver and the biased wieght to the drivers side of the vehicle. i'm gong to mount mine soon to make way for a new uicp. thanks for the good write-up and ideas.

anyone know if you relocate the battery to either corner of the trunk, are you still able to run a trunk cage like the worx or gt?

I have gotten my battery relocated and I want to know what size (amperage) inline fuse I should run. I know a starter takes a heck of a lot of amps while it is cranking. So what fuse can I use that would be beneficial if the wire ever ground out but I wouldn't be replacing it everytime I go to start my car?

Might want to add if you are drag racing at a NHRA track you need a labeled disconnect coming out the back of the car somewhere.

Optima is not requiring any type of closed boxes hence it contain absorbed gel ... nothing can evaporate from battery, this type of batteries may be in any position, up side down ... Isn't ?
