I found one other thread with like 4 different people saying 4 different things. It also looks like you will have to use a resistor if you want to replace one of the OEM o2's. I'm thinking about just having a bung welded in now :\
from what i have read you can but that is in the 02 Housing and i think that will shortn the life of the wideband. I'm going put mine before the HFC...... i just ordered it from Gruppe-S great pice with the EGT probe......i also hear that we will be able to log and display boost with an update coming very soon....i'm asking on the PLX forum i will let u know

That would be nice.. I just got the m500 unit and I'm already kicking myself in the *** for not getting the r500
I also don't know if I trust any local shops even to weld a bung on :\ I don't know if they think my car is rice and don't care about doing a good job.. or if they are stupid/not trained. It looks like there would be less wiring if you do have a bung put on.
Hopefully someone that has installed one of these will see this thread
'
BTW: I just picked up a o2 sensor socket from Sears.. looks pretty sweet
Edit: Here is another pin-out diagram from plx

I'm not looking forward to hooking it up :\ More wires to tap in on the harness.. You don't happen to have an safc do ya? Just curious if people are tapping into the same exact spot for both wideband/safc on the harness.

Yeah I have a fields harness but still.. you're going to have wires that have 2 and 3 wires spliced into them.
Edit:
I'm also curious to see if people are wiring int he signal wires on the ecu.. this simluates the narrowband signal.. I'm assuming this will prevent a SES light. Although it does say "optional" in the forums.

no problem i do Audio/Video and Networking installation.......i love wires....splicing is not a problem do it all day long........ just knowing what the wires im splicing into do...... that is the problem
I've been there done that lol.. I drilled a hole in my brake booster while installing a hallman cockpit controller last week so after fixing that the last thing I want to do is get under the dash again
I think I'm going to change my order if it's not too late and get the R500. I just read this and now the R500 is looking even better.
The M-500 is not capable of measuring knock, but the R-500 implements a sofisticated knocking algorithm which normalizes your background engine knock noise to filter and detect knock.

I just wrote the guy to see if it's too late to change my order.. I was having it shipped same day so I don't think it's even left yet. I can't believe I overlooked these things when doing research
Hey you're going to update ur first post with all the good info right? This thread is already getting long with us chatting
