Apexi turbo timer in place of clock
Apexi turbo timer in place of clock
I am not sure if this has been done but I thought I would poat a quick how to..all pictures can be found here http://community.webshots.com/user/dwn4cause
1. take off knobs and ac panel
2. take out center dash trim (ac vents, clock) there sould be two screws and the rest is just a bunch of clips.
3. Using a flat head screw driver pop out the drivers side vent
4. Take out the clock
5. Drill a small hole in the passenger vent just big enough for the timer and wire to get through.
6. But the passenger side vent back on
7. If you made the hole tight enough the timer shouldn't move, otherwise use tape or something else to hold it down.
8. Re-install all dash peices.
**by doing this passenger will only stay 1/2 open all the time, also because of the knob on the Apexi timer Its best to take one fin out of the passenger vent so that the timer goes father in and the display will be in the center of the clock display. Night time perfect display even lights up red to match the interior. Good place to put it since the APEX one shows A/F ratio, bettery, ect.. Day time can read numbers, and cant see the timer perfect. If sun shines on clock display cant see numbers and you can see the timer. Also not sure what effect the temps of the vent will have on the timer but here in so cal weather is nice so dont really use heater/ac much. Please do this mod at your own risk good luck.
