XM satellite

I'm about to purchase an XM satellite radio for O&A. Where do you all have your XM radio mounted, pictures please?

I was thinking about getting the XM Skifi2 because then I can take the unit in the house and listen as well. Is there any way I can have a tuner in my car and in my house or do I need 2 subscriptions?

Please show pics of the XM install for the reciever..... much appreciated

You only need one sub but you will need a car kit and a home kit.

after using XM for a few months, I can say that the service kind of sucks. Lot's of repeats in their playlists. Their playlists are too short, and the variety sucks.

When I had dishnetwork, they included Sirrus as part of the package. Sirrus has better playlist, more variety, and just better quality music than XM.

anyhow, I used the car kit to mount the reciever in the car. It helps to have a head unit with a line in jack, because the mini-FM connection kind of sucks where I live (too many radio stations to interfere with). To use in the home, all you need is a base station.

But given a choice again, I would prefer to go with sirrus.

If you are only getting one unit, or one tuner, you need one subscription. If you get 2, then you need 2. $12.95 for the 1st $6.99 for the 2nd. Why do you want the skyfi2. The roady2 allows you to have it in your house and your car. just no boombox available(actually there is, but they discontinued it). only downfall to the unit is smaller screen and that and you cant record up to 30mins on it like you can the skyfi2. but you can change it 7 different colors. But it is really cheap right now. you can pick it up from best buy for like $17.99 for the unit and $40.99 for the home kit vs the skyfi2 which is $129.99 with a 50 mail in rebate. and another $49.99 for the home kit.

ive been a wuss putting my xm and sirius in. havent figured out where im putting them yet. i dont like clutter, so im debating selling mine and just doing a direct link. I dont know, ill figure it out when it gets warmer! Too COLD!!!

have the xmcommander in my truck and an integrated xm in my wifes murano into the dvdnav system. I love xm... will be puttin into the evo next spring, but will buy a head unit that is xm ready so no module to see. we have directv, so already have xm at home..

call and ask about any specials prior to purchasing. they are like cell phone dealers. sometimes you can get specials out of them if you start talking sirius.

I was thinking about adding the skyfi2 but it is so honkin big, it really looks outdated. I think all these recent sales mean the company will come out with new units soon.

I also do think Sirius is better for music, but im buying mine for O&A. Howard Stern is such a sell out now and is too glamorous for me to listen to now, he was cool back in the late 80's.

Anyways, do you guys have any pics of your dashes on where you mounted the units ?

-thanks!

New units will be on display at CES which is in late JAN I believe. Release dates will be announced after that.

I just purchased the XM Delphia XT I believe its called...Its very small, much smaller than the skifi. It doesnt have the 30 minute memory, but I wouldnt use that anyway. Its small enough you can basically mount it anywhere.

Agree!!!

We have XM at work and I have Sirius in my Durango. Being that I listen to both everyday, IMHO Sirius is way better!

Its the XM Delphi Roady XT, its flatter than the rest, but the Roady 2 is $30 less right now and its shorter but a little fatter.

I have XM and Sirius. I like everything better on Sirius except: comedy, dance, and oldies.... other than that Sirius rocks!
