dynamat install question

So i got some dynamat for xmas for my door panels and want to install it in the front doors, i know how to take the door panels off and everything and i have searched but im not quite sure what to do with the plastic moisture guard inside the door and that black gooey stuff sealing it in. Should i just avoid it or try and clean it off and put some new stuff and if so what is it called because after installing my speakers i know that crap gets everywhere when i took off my door panels.

You want to lose the plastic and completely remove the grease and all residue with alcohol, goof off, etc. The dynamat applies directly to the metal in place of the plastic.

well i did it, very difficult and time consuming. So i started on the passanger side and i tried taking off all the black crap with rubbing alcohol and it didnt take it off at all. so i just started collecting a large ball with my fingers, disgusting. then i realized there were huge holes in the door that water could come through and i decided to put the plastic weather guard back on.

what if i rolled the window down on a rainy day without it? there was enough leftover black stuff on the plastic to stick it back on, oh and in case anyone cares, i got the door kit which comes with 4 sheets and i only used 1 and a half sheets for both doors
