I am needing to do a fluid change on my transmission but parts department told me they only have it in a giant jug for $212. Can anyone tell me if there is a part # or another brand, I really want to stay with fluids but I really dont need a lifetimes supply of GL-4.

 

It's true, the gear oil is only sold in 55 gallon drums. But from what I heard it's nothing special it's just whatever kind of oil the dealership can get on their hand that meets the viscosity rating that mitsu recommends. I personally have been going with amsoil in the gear oil, which meets mitsu requirements. However most others have found BG sychroshift is the best stuff, but then again it does NOT meet the requirements.

 

i am using BG SYNCROSHIFT 3QTS FOR 30.00 AND ITS WORKING PERFECTLY but hell, if you want to use only original its gonna cost ya. But BG SYNCROSHIFT works for me fine.
