So the steel wool actually works? I've been thinking about using an afterment coolant overflow and stuffing it with the stainless steel wool. Have you thought about using clear tubes so you can actually see it work? That's what I do on my current set-up. Over time the tube in starts to brown up and the tube out stays clear for much longer. Eventually, the tube out with start to get brown, but I guess DIY catch cans can't be 100% efficient. I don't think ANY catch can is 100% efficent, but better something than nothing!

It's not Steel Wool that is instructed, it's a Steel Scrubber, the kind that are about 1mm width constaint strand. And yes, it works. I've been using one on each side with great results.

Ohh, I thought it was the same thing as stainless steel wool. I know the regular steel wool is really thin. I'm thinking of the same stuff, just calling it by a different name. My mom has some for washing dishes

I'm using bronze wool in my catch can. Doesn't corrode, shed, etc. Got it from the local hardware store.

Just about every "catch tank" for sale , except for Saikou Michi, probably doesn't have any type of baffle in it whatsoever. They also tend to perform accordingly. Unfortunately, they are not priced accordingly.

Hokiruu, thank you for this DIY, your pictures were very helpful too. the whole PCV side thing screwed me up! I completely understand how the other side that connects to the intake works... but where does the PCV side connect to? anyone got any pics or a diagram?

wizechef, thanks. i know i left the write up incomplete without the PCV part and need to update it with pics. there's a port on the back of the valve cover. that's the PCV. sorry i'll try to update it with a better explaination.

Many people run two cans, but you don't have to. You can tee them together if you want.

Great... did you try that set up with the two small filters, and caping off the intake tube and manifold? any SES light? how did it come out?
