What are you having problems with. It's pretty straight forward. Connect wire to the points listed. The wire lengths are listed, you just need to strip about 3/4" off each end and crimp on the ring terminals. You can use big plyers, vicegrips or even a vice. Soldering would be even better.

I am having a very tough time removing the bolt on the back of the rear engine hoist. Would bolting it on to the rear engine hoist work just as good?

Yep .. just clean it off properly and sand down the area a bit where the bolt will be. Used some good locking washers. Worked like a charm for me!!

in fact in version 2.0 of the kit (more points ... getting rid of the ricey red colour cable) I will still be using this setup!

I installed mine last weekend. I couldn't get the rear engine hoist bolt off so I installed this way (photo attached, sorry about the quality-used my 007 lighter camera for this.)
I don't think I notice anything. My rpm is 800 - 900. When the A/C is on it goes up to 1000 rpm and tapers off back to 800-900 rpm. My headlights does not seem any brighter. My radio isn't any cleaner sounding or louder. Could it be because I installed it on the rear engine hoist?

Just installed mine. It took nearly three hours alot tight spaces plus the rear engine hoist bolt was a ***** to get it off. Very akward position to un bolt it. I went with a 4 gauge plus bling bolt on connectors. Don't know if I suppose to notice any performance gain but I notice at idle it's alot smoother....Thanks Bishiboy for posting the specs. Next one I'll do will be probably 8 guage transparent/ gray just to give it the OEM look...best mod for the buck compared to what Mitsu is charging theirs for and probably made in china...

Yup...I'm still here and still have them. My original thread was removed by the moderators for unregistered vending. Just PM me and I'll hook ya up.

FYI, I package directions with my kit that should cut what normally takes 2-3 hours down to 45 minutes. The kit also includes the transmission bolt.

Thumbs up

Yep, I just did mine 300 miles ago and my car definitely feels smoother at idle, especially w/ the AC on. The low end/off-boost power and throttle response was noticeably better. WOT felt about the same, maybe gained 1-2hp. It was definitely well worth the $45 and 4 hours I put into this project. I like how my black ground wires just blends into the background in the engine bay. It looks really stealth.

I used the bling bling gold plated Monster ring terminals w/ black 4 gauge wire. Crimping the connectors onto the wires were somewhat tricky since I didn't have that large of a wire stripper and crimper. I ended up using a razor blade to strip the wire, and a bolt in a vise to crimp the connector.

I also had to take my die grinder and grind down my big fat ring terminals mounting to the battery to get it to mount flush.

The install of this was pretty easy. The rear engine is a pain, but it is possible. I took out the battery instead of the intake to get to the tranny. If you forget to buy the tranny bolt, then take a bolt from the coolant overflow resevoir. Also, the cables I had would smell from burning, but after some time that went away.

I know this post is ancient and I'm digging up old dirt., it's my first post here to ..

Went to the audio shop, paid $25 for quility 4 gauge audio wire & 12 connecters for a $50 total, overspent but I am beyond happy with the outcome..

I have the Cosworth 272 cams and my evo 9 runs sloppy at idle...NOT ANYMORE..

Things I have seen: the ground setup gained 300RPM at idle when under full load of lights, windows being rolled up, u name it..; I cannot stall the car as before with the grounding setup....RPM band is smoother and power seems to be more crisp. Headlights are Incredibly bright now and I cannot wait to uprage my stereo system now...Thanks to all who have posted, its served me well

If Mitsubishi is offering is offering an upgraded ground setup, then isnt this a logical step? I think so.
