How to: Stock WGA spring mod
This mod may be helpful for those running an MBC, but not for those running the GM3 port BCS or EBC....The only reason you need to do this mod for an MBC is due to the fact that the spring on the MBC compresses [opens] at higher RPM and sends air to the WGA. I would recommend going the modified BCS route instead as you can control your boost more accurately...

K..I did the spring thing...then I kept hitting over 30 psi and not matter what I did with my MBC the boost wouldnt' come back down. I took the spring off and turned down the MBC almost all the way. Now I am spiking 30 psi and falling to 20. I am thinking that I may have turned the eye on the WGA the wrong way. I screwed it in towards the actuator. Tomorrow I will have to figure out what I did wrong. It's late now. Any suggestions?
what mbc r u using
what do you normally spike without the spring mod
I have yet tried setting it, I asked because 20G's have a good ability in holding boost as the IX turbo's seems to taper low.. I'll have to wait and see to test the theory...
I think I will put it all back to the way it was and be happy with that until I can find another way to resolve the boost taper issue. Maybe when I tightened the eye bolt up, it isn't allowing the exhaust flap to close all the way.

sounds like you have the eyelid tighten down to far and just need to add the spring.
the high spike is come from too much preload from the spring and eyelid. To be honest with you man 27 falling to 23 sounds good.

good luck man and thanks for testing
i will comment the stock turbo race gas tune I did last week. all we did was add the spring with a 28 psi spike he said "it stayed" there the whole way a tapered a psi or 2". I wasnt able to see it since I was busy tuning and his gauge sits on the other side of his car.

anyone have the picture of what spring u have to use from the assortment pack?? theres like 5 springs in there but idk which one to pick out cause the pics that were used here are like out dated or something !
i did a mod similar to this 2 1/2 yrs ago & haven't changed it. only thing i didn't do was add that external spring. initial testing my car spun the boost gauge to 37psi with the mbc turned all the way up. i spike to 30 & it falls to 23-25 by redline. i must mention i only run racegas so this is not an issue.
WGA mod is not recommended for ppl on pumpgas and/or ppl who either use an EBC or control boost thru the ECU...

So in reading this post by turning the eyelet are we turning it "down" meaning towards the end of the rod showing more threads, or "up" meaning showing fewer threads? Do I have my ups and downs confused? Thanks!
