DIY black wheels?
DIY black wheels?
I've searched for it for the last 30 minutes or so and found nothing. i tried typing different words and searching in several forums, being specific etc., etc. A little help would be nice, thanks,

I just redid my winter wheels about a week ago. I repainted them flat black and it was pretty easy. Just take your time with the prep work and it'll come out fine. I wetsanded the wheels with 400 grit sandpaper just to take some of the paint off. The wheels also had some paint chips on them so I sanded them down so it was smooth and you couldnt see it. Once you have everything smooth and equal with no high spots I used 3 coats of primer and then 4 coats of flat black paint. Just read the directions on the can for drying times because it may differ from brand to brand.

one thing is that i dont know how to "wet sand". anything special to this or just get the wheel wet and sand it lol? i know thats a dumb question but i just dont know how
Just keep the wheel/sandpaper wet at all times, it keeps the sandpaper from clogging so you can use it longer!
oh ok thanks. will post picts as soon as i get my wheels off. have to wait till itgets to kevinds house for the motor to be pulled though. i figure taking time to paint my wheels right while the motor gets rebuilt is perfect
