question about exhaust installation

I am putting on a Vishnu catback, so do I reuse the stock gasket between the cat and new pipe, or do I just remove it and use no gasket? Do I have to get a new one? None of the posted exhaust installs mention the gaskets...Thanks...

I would get a new gasket. It is stupid not to. Would you replace pipe in your house without new gaskets?

Well, it seems like that would be true, except some exhausts seem to be specifically made to not use a gasket. Certainly the midpipe to muffler section of the Vishnu does not need one, and when I did the exhaust on my GSX, most of the ones I looked into came with them if needed. I'm guessing that Shiv would have included it if it was needed, but I'm really not sure.

I won't worry about this matter now. Enjoy your new catback installation process. Test drive after the installation. If you hear leaking after you install the catback, then you will know what is missing.

Why do it twice spend $5 on the gasket?

gasket

Why don't you call Vishnu and get the proper answer (and let us know). If you need a new one they should supply it if they are worth anything (which they are). Do they supply directions or just throw some shiny pipes your way?

I don't mind to do it twice.

I just can't get my hands off the car. I'm car crazy. I need help.
