Havent done this in a while, but when installing cams which gaskets are needed?? As far as i remember: Valve Cover gasket, spark plug gaskets, cam shaft seal....is there anything else???

 

No one has done any cam swaps???

 

i dont recall any of my gaskets being replaced when i had cams put in a month ago

 

Same here...just had my cams changed and didn't touch any of the gaskets...

 

i thought you have to change the valve cover gasket every time you remove it?

 

I didn't replace any gaskets during my cam install.

The OEM VC gasket set is pretty high quality. I had no leaks after reinstall.

If you want a resealed valve cover, go to mitsubishiparts.net and get: MD340535 + MD186785 (x4)

Change them if needed. I have never changed the cam seals

 

thanx guys, I already had cams on mine when i got, but i am doing my boy's cams, but from DSM days i remember having to change the VC gasket, spark plug gaskets and the little half circle gasket that you had to put on the head.

 

You dont have to replace any of the gaskets unless they are ripped or in poor condition. My valve cover has been over numerous times and I only replaced it once because it has a slight rip. Just remember to apply a little RTV over the half moon shaped regions for a proper seal

 

i would recommend to change the cam seals, just in case
