Car hesitating from 3-5k RPM under full boost

I started having this problem about a week ago, I got a fresh tank of gas and it seems to be a little better. I have no idea what this could be, my car did not need the recall and it sounds like what others were talking about. After 5k -7500 it's fine under full boost. It's almost like it's missing. Not bad maybe 2-3 VERY little bumps. Is this okay am I just freeking out over nothing? I just want to make sure everything is okay before I start modding it and it gets worse. I am going to take it in next week if it does not go away but anything I can try before I go that route?

Are you stock? Is this at WOT? If so, is it a very subtle sort of thing? Kind of like you just met some resistance?

If that describes it, then it's just the normal Evo tuning. The Evo has very lumpy timing curve from the factory and really pulls timing at 5K or so. Also, there is a boost lump there too, in the form of a rush to full boost, then it drops a couple pounds or more right around that spot. It really makes it feel like a big hole. Also, I spoke with Shiv about the stock boost maps and he indicated it was pretty lumpy in general and probably was intentionally that way due to emissions.

Re: Re: Car hesitating from 3-5k RPM under full boost

I fixed it. When I installed my boost gauge I cut the wrong hose. the one that is next to the correct one. Then I put some clear hose on it for now and install the gauge into the correct hose. well after a few days that hose poped off. Well I put the clear hose on and now am getting about 19-20 PSI from say 3-4 then it starts to drop. Car is much smother. I am glad there are not too many hoses because they are a pain in the *** to mess with. Just into in case you car runs rough and you messed around in that area of the car.
