seemingly stupid question about running wires (dash/headliner)

So I went to hardwire my valentine 1 tonight and low and behold, I get everything apart and the easy part (routing the phone cord over the headliner, down the a pillar, through the dash) stops me dead in my tracks.

I could not for the life of me figure out how to:

1) tuck the wire up under the headliner along the windshield top

2) get that damn phone cord through the back of the dash and down to the accessory (V1) hookup

Maybe there's a much easier way to do this but I was thinking: tuck the wire up under the headliner, run down a pillar, run behind dash to steering wheel area, drop down to empty area under dash next to steering column, connect.

Am I thinking correctly? If so, someone please give me some tips! I'm working on a photo-assisted installation procedure specifically for this and any other RD that has a hardwire kit.

Thanks!

-Chris

To add to this, it seems like the headliner is sealed to the roof, and the dash seems to be sealed to the firewall. I couldn't get through either! Sometimes my own ineptitude astounds me, it seems so simple.

Get a butter knife or other flat, but not sharp item to pry the headliner away from windshield while tucking wire. You can fish the wire down the opening at the base of the A pillar to your hard wire kit.

Ah so there IS a hole through the dash but it's behind the a-pillar... thanks man I'll check it out tomorrow. Will the headliner re-seal itself back to the roof/windshield/whatever it's glued to?

Its not glued at that point. Just presuure that s holding that area. It will be ok, you will see when you start fiddling with it.

I was starting to get worried that everyone had lied about getting this done, being that it took 2 days for someone to respond!
