besides the throttle body seals, where are some other sources of leaks?

Awesome write up! I thought the boost leak tester was more than a coupler with endcap with valvestem on the end. Now I can make my own and test it once it get a bit warmer.

im so confused as to what i did wrong. but i have a boost leak tester and 125psi compressor but i couldnt get my turbo to start spinning. i guess im using my compressor wrong somehow but i set it to 25psi and it said it was pushing out 25psi on the out-regulator-gauge yet my turbo didnt spin at all and my boost gauge read nothing. i got scared and put my intake and everything back on and took it for a drive and everything seemed fine.

No the car should not be on.. The point of this test is to fill the engine with pressure, simulating what a turbo would do when your running the car. You need the car off to hear leaks.

I/C pipe conections, BOV if its weak, Throttle body gasket, I/C itself if something has puctured it such as a stone hitting it, Any vacuum hose, Intake manifold. Hope that helps

Thanks for the write up - I will use this to test mine - I bought it used, never hurts to make sure the car is running in tip-top shape.

i tried the same thing today and i found that there is a hissing noise followed by a complete loss of pressure (i can only assume it is a giant leak), right at the throttle body. does anyone know if this is definitely indicative of a throttle body seal leak? any input would be great because my car has been hesitating under boost and im not sure if its the clutch or a leak..
