Great instructions

Not to dig up a looooong-since dead thread (ok, I did dig it up) but I hardwired my new V1 today and had to thanks webguy330i for the excellent write up.

I completed the install in about 45 minutes and it works flawlessly. I've hardwired detectors before but not a V1.

If anyone's looking to hardwire their V1's, this is the way to do it. Thanks agian.

THKFAST,
When you hardwired into the accessory light, is it the black one? ( I know there are two; a black/white wire and a black only wire...)

Eddie.

Got my V1 today, just in time for the Turkey Day trip! I have it running off the cig lighter for now but when I get home its getting hardwired to the sunroof/dome light wiring.

I heard nothing but great things about the V1 so I figured what the heck. I have a Bel 980 hardwired in my other vehicle and it hasn't let me down once (meaning no tickets) in the 4 years I owned it, and since the V1 is susposed to be much better then any other unit on the market today I should be good to go.

Nice write up BTW!

Webguy,
I know your write up has the hardwire using the cigarette lighter wire. Can the dome light be used as well?

Eddie.

Eddie, I am not sure as I never really looked into that. I guess some people have (earlier in this thread).

Installed my Valentine 1 today, using your write up. Very helpful, thanks! I did break one of my clips on the center consol, does anyone know if I can get replacement clips from the dealer?
Boy the plastics / clips Mitsu use are cheap! You would not want to take the panels and such apart too many times as the “fit” seems to deteriorate each time you do.
Anyway, thanks for the great how to!

I wonder, would the remote display fit were the clock is? If it does that would be really clean!

Which clip was it exactly? It's been a while since I wrote this thing up.

Little white ones that connect the rear center consol. You can see them both in your first photo.

Ahhhhhh

IIRC they do separate from that center console piece, maybe post up in the Parts # Requests thread and see what someone can turn up for you.

Glad the write-up helped btw.

seems like the dome light would be easiest.

Yep, tap into the dome light. Installation takes about 10 minutes & nothing to break. Just leave the V1 on when you shut car off...power is cut automatically after approx 30 min. Next time you open the door, V1 will power back up and you're good to go.
