I just hardwire my, instead of taking around the center console I used an add a fuse. The thing is GREAT! cut my time in half. Took me about 5 minutes to wire everything up, hardest part was for me to find a place to ground.

I ended up doing it the way the webguy330i did it. IMHO it's the best method, since it's a clean install and when you turn the key it turns on and when you pull the key it turns off. There's plenty of wire already in the V-1 so you don't have to do much to it. Some may have taken 5 minutes, but at 25 minutes, I was already done. It wasn't too hard and it was my first time ever taking the center console out... Many thanks to webguy330i

I hope you see this since your last post was on Oct. of 07

So, question for everyone that seems to be mounting their radar to the left of the mirror... I was thinking about mounting mine in the same place, but it seems like it would obstruct the visor if you wanted to put it down. Does your detector interfere with your visor?

Finally installed my V1. Many thanks Webguy

Finally installed my V1. Took me a while cuz I had to install the concealed display and the blendmount. It came out pretty good I think. The mount is a very nice crafted piece. No more suction cups. It is sitting write below the rear view mirror and with my aftermarket broadway mirror attached, it's not blocking the view in any way.
As with the concealed display, I put it in the ashtray taped with 3m on the very edge and its angled up so I can see it and the ashtray is somewhat still functioning, just not be able to close it all the way but can put coins and other junk inside
Anyways heres some pictures :

I got it from Ebay. It's cheaper plus they have the hard wiring kit that came with it.

You can also get it from http://www.blendmount.com/

I thought they didn't make one for Mitsubishi. Is yours for a different car model?

I sent them e-mail asking specifically for 05 evo 8. I got a replied saying that

Toyota and Mitsubishi using the same stem "pepper stem" but they are not 100%

sure it will work and will do anything to make sure they dial in on this product on

Evo. Luckily, everything came out perfect.

Make sure you ask for BV1- Hinge. This is the one I got.

After digging through all the how-to's for hardwiring radar detectors, this is by far the best set of instructions with pictures and specific step-by-step guidance. I didn't know a thing about taking apart the interior for my Evo IX, and I just successfully finished hardwiring my V1. If you need more pictures about taking apart the a-pillar and running the wires through the headliner, you can find them here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ng-mirror.html

Thanks a ton for this, webguy.

Oh yeah, and when I took my center console apart, I found a vampire clip already hooked onto the cigarette lighter wire. I bought my Evo used, so it looks like there's a possibility I wasn't the first person to use these set of instructions for my Evo...
