How to Protect from the sun??

Ever since I moved to California spots keep appearing on my wing because of the sun. (Even though I wax it at least every other week!)
Does anybody have any tips on what else I can do or use to protect it from the sun?? otherwise I'm gonna need a new paint job soon

Are you waxing the car in the sun ? Are you applying a 'cleaning wax' as opposed to pure wax? The clear coat on the wings is not great, but you may just need to have the wing re-sprayed....I believe '05s were worse than '06s...

FYI -- I have used Griots Best of Show Wax and Paint Sealant on my car and have no 'sun spots'....

must of the time I wax my car in the shade then move it to the sun in case I missed any spots.
I use cleaning wax, so I should use pure wax then? I use spray detailer sometimes but not usually.

Absolutely -- using a 'cleaning wax' literally has abrasives in it the wax that effectively remove blemishes as well as thin paint / clear coat....

So first off, stop using a cleaning wax. Secondly you don't need to wax your car but a few times a year (depending on wax and how your car is stored and cleaned).

Thirdly, in terms of waxes and sealants -- there are numerous threads on which work well for various needs. Good luck

You might want to sand it down and do a proper clear coat. So many people have this same problem the UV protection on our wings is god awful.

I never noticed the difference between cleaning waxes and pure waxes. Where would it say this? Have any examples?

As far as the clearcoat goes on your wing, if you are still under 60,000 miles (or maybe even 100,000 since this is a cosmetic issue), you can get a new one covered under warranty. I did.

I had all 4 brembos and the spoiler replaced under factory warranty because of cosmetic paint issues. Look into it...

Generally the cleaner waxes say something to the effect of cleaning / polishing / etc...Most of the large manufacturers make a 'cleaning wax' as well as standard wax...
