If someone needed to purchase this motor assembly, what would the part numbers be?

OK, this is the answer for HIDs.

I have an EVO 7.5 GT-A which has the height adjustable lights with factory HID's. I adjusted my low-beams only in about 20 seconds each side. All you need to do is insert a phillips head screwdriver into the hole where you can see the black plastic gear inside. Use a screwdriver that just-fits in there. As you turn the screwdriver you will see the little 5mm nut thing turning. YOU MUST DO THIS WITH THE LIGHTS OFF.

Very simple and you dont need to remove anything to do the adjustment on both sides. I found only a few turns moved the lights enough.

LOL im screwed also. I drive a 06 mr and was able to adjust the driver side just fine as stated in noodles instructions. but the passsenger side will just click and not go anywhere. I removed the tilt adjuster from the gear and it still wouldnt adjust. i tried to lower the driver side back to where it was and found it would not go back down. guess im stuck with one high and one low. if anyone is having the same problem i am and figures out what to do. please let me know thanks.

note: i did not read far enough in this thread and adjusted the driver side with lights on. i tried both on and off for the passenger and when i went to lower the driver side i did the same. I started with lights on and then again with lights off. and still no luck.

I tried to adjust the headlights with the method aforementioned in the how to section and all that did was adjust the high beams. I have a VIII evo. As far as I can tell the adjustments for the HIDs are these little white caps on the HIDs assembly themselves. Do i have to pop of the white circular caps to get to the adjustment screws???

Can someone post a pic???

Thanks

heres the deal..I did mine without a hitch after reading through all 10 pages..The global adjustment, which adjusts high and low together, has a cable with a gear running off the adjustment gear which also adjusts the low beam..Sometimes the cable can be stiff and the cable inside the cable may be slightly stuck causing the gear at the end of the cable (plastic) to strip out when you turn the global adj (10mm near high beam) due to it not wanting to move so easy..With me knowing this ahead of time I went ahead and turned the gear back and fourth by hand (the one at the end of the cable) since there is some slight play, after I did this I could tell it was somewhat freed up and then I proceeded to adjust both beams with everything still connected using the 10mm at the end of the gear..As you turn the main gear you MUST help along the gear that feeds the low beam (via the cable of death) to avoid stripping the gear. I was able to do this by hand..It does not take much to strip the gear so if it feels tight, just turn it the other way slightly and spin it back and try again..My moving it by hand at the same time as using the 10mm you will also insure the smaller gear is spinning while you adjust the main gear, you will also see a small hex head spin at the top of the hid level control unit, this will let you know for sure that the low beam is in fact adjusting with the hi beam..This applies to HID WITH ELEC> LEVELING!!

heres a few pointers from my experience.....

1. spray tiny bit of WD40 on the adjustment gear as most daily driven evos probably have alil grit stuck in there... wd40 will help loosen it.

2.when turning counterclock wise, push in very small increments. any resistance, rock it slightly like you do when you are stuck in snow.

hmmmmm from my experience......

i did the passenger bc it was easier, the stupid gear it was seized, so i took both lil screws and i rock the lil cap back and forth and eventually it got loose. I adjusted the height, and proceeded to the driver.

the gear on the driver side was seized as well, so i had to loose both screws and i tried turning the cap, but it was sooo hard that my fingers got blistered and eventually started bleeding.

Ill finish tomorrow....... keep u guys posted
I guess ill finish tomorrow
