nice write up thanks. i have a question tho. im runnin an 03 Lancer oz rally that i Turboed and just bought one of these boost controllers from a guy here on the forums. maybe someone here can help me as well. thanks in advance. josh
here are my settings:
low:

warning limiter 10%

set 100%

warning limiter 10%
i have a tial external wastegate with a 7psi spring. my top boost was 10.8 psi.
i think i need to adjust a few things. i want my low to be about 4-5 psi and high to be like 8 or so. that way i can change from fuel economy to race mode.
any thoughts?

i also noticed that when on low boost it starts "clicking" at about 2 psi or so. is this normal or something not hooked up right? i does not do it on the high setting.

if i lower my set on the low side to 40% and my set gain to 10, and on the high side my set to 75% and set gain to 30, my boost should go down.
if anyone wants to take a crak at it here is the manual from greddy.

ok so with the above info that i "adjusted" today to the values, i hit a 13.3 psi on high!
then i had some bov flutter, and found out that i had melted the vacuum line from the bov to the fpr had melted!

so many pages.. has anyone asked?
i am getting 21-18-21-18-21psi.
my settings:
gain: 52%
gain: 5%
setgain: 150 (15psi)
warning: 230 (23psi). trying to reach 21psi in 3rd gear.
warning L: 15%
peak boost was: 214 (21.4psi).
it's acting like it's hitting the warning level, though peak is clearly lower. any ideas??

things i've noticed while reading this thread:
and i STILL have an issue where my boost bounces from 20 to 18 then back to 20 then 18 then settles at 20.
frustrating.

2. green wire (left) : white wire (right)
PLEASE HELP!!!
when comparing the plug from the solenoid and the plug coming from the controller i connected the black and white wires together, then connected the green to the blue (i think it was blue.. or red...? which ever wire was left). is this what what you guys have noticed? i had to go buy a picture i found on google. not sure if it's right.. but seems to be working. you should have the com, and no hooked up and the other opening capped
i'm 99% sure the third hole is where it bleeds boost pressure. if you plug that hole, how can it properly bleed boost? Originally Posted by DfWeVo

i believe you are looking at it backward. you don't WANT the WG to open that early. you want the turbo to spool quickly. the fastest way is to have the WG 100% closed (this is why cars with MBCs seem to spool kinda slow; they are constantly bleeding off boost). you don't want the wastegate to open until you hit your desired boost. let's say 20psi. BUT. if it opens at 20psi, you will get a slight spike during the time the solenoid opens and bleeds off boost. so.. you gotta set it as close to your desired boost as possible (so you get quick spool), but not so high that it spikes. you can set it really low, let's say 10psi, but then from 10psi on up to 20psi, the wastegate isn't fully closed, so you will have a slower spool time. from what i understand it is you want your max boost to be 23psi but your warning is 15% which means max boost minus 15% as the warning. if you set it to 5% you will closer to 22peak boost before the warning comes on and limits boost.
my corrent setting is
LOW
gain - 0%
set gain - 60
warning - 130
warningL - 4%
HIGH
gain - 0%
set gain - 65
warning - 24
warningL - 4%
this is the setting the tuner set it as, so im yet to adjust but i will be testing with the gain on both settings. im thinking 5% on low and 10% on high

I replaced the solenoid on my spec II the other day because it won't run any more than wastegate boost (38mm TiaL) Everything is hooked up correctly as this is not my first turbo mitsu or my first profec b spec II. The solenoid is hooked up properly, everything is getting power. The hoses are all connected correctly but it will not increase boost. Has anyone had a control box go bad???? I have tried everything I know, it reads vacuum/boost fine it just won't control it at all. Anyone else have this problem. I have an AMS 950R kit on my car w/ all supporting mods so this car should be running 37 psi on e85 right now the way the boost controller is setup. I used the same settings as a friend who has the same bolt ons but he has an AMS 850R kit which shouldn't make a difference since that is the only difference. This thing is starting to **** me off. Help anyone????

Make sure you have the third plastic cap removed from the NC slot on your boost controller solenoid. Could be the problem? Most common issue...Originally Posted by patastrancas

Found that is boost controller setting wrong due to my kids adjust it.Originally Posted by arpad
How To Tune Your Greddy Profec B spec IIMy car jerking when boost at 0.6 bar after my kid adjust it without i knowing it.
So anyone know how to adjust. I spend alot of time, still cannot set back.
Currently Setting:
Lowboost
1) SET = 0%
2) Gain = 0%
3) Start Boost = 0.40
Hight Boost =Currently jerking at 0.6 bar
1) Set =16%
2) Gain =20%
3)Start boost = 0.32
Then i re setting this way, i know this is wrong:
SET = from 16% to 0%
Gain = from 20% to 80% ( so that boost won't drop)
START Boost = from 0.42 to 0.60
My set was 0% because if more then 2 % , there is jerking problem.
but this wrong setting no jerking. any problem?
