Quote: That's not true at all. You could use Low boost for those super cold mornings (to prevent overboosting). Or, you could drop a couple psi for track duty (to have as a safety margin). Tune your ECU for the high boost setting, then use the low boost setting for something whatever you need. Reducing the boost a touch isn't going to suddenly destroy your tune.. you'll just run a tiny bit richer (still nowhere near as rich as the stock ECU cal though).
overboosting? um no, thats y theres a warning and boost cut on EBC. stock ECU cal does not run 10.9 to 1. it all depends on ur tune, most of time u r running richer than stock. dude do u have any idea what u r talkin about here?

Quote: well if you set it any higher i dont think itll work
turn off your profec and it will only hit about 14- 15 psi
if you set it to 18 psi it will never hit it and the greddy wont take over

Well then that makes sense for the start boost to be at 140. I thought if you turned off the ebc it would read 11-12psi. But if off you get 14-15psi then it makes sense.

Just bought one of these as my EBC / Gauge replacement. I bought it along with the open air intake w/ adaptor and a full TBE -- all from AMS. I've already got the AMS base flash in the car right now (Chris already knew the intended mods that I was going to do).

Sooo it seems from reading through this entire thread that a lot of people are having problems and a couple people are not.

I've got a couple questions for the time being:

**Some people are saying to use both HI and LO programmable settings (one for hot weather and one for cold weather) and others are saying that's not necessary at all. So what's the final word on this?!

**Also, If we don't need to run two settings does that mean that we also don't need to use the remote to hit the button once we're in 3rd gear?

**Can someone give me an idea as to the highest boost pressure we can run in these cars on 93 octane? Someone earlier mentioned something about the longevity of the engine when running 22psi. I find that odd since it's only 2 lbs over stock. But is this the general concensus?

**If we leave the profec turned off---will the car simply run off the ECU mapping as if the profec was never installed in the first place?

Thanks a lot guys. I know once I get the dang thing that I'll probably have more questions later. I'm just trying to mentally prepare for when the time comes for the install.

how do u know u hit 23-24? is it because the "last boost" or "peak boost" shows that number? cause u r not hitting that much boost if u r according to those features. pay attention to the boost readout while WOT, im 99% sure when WOT the greddy unit won't show 24 psi if the peak boost or last boost say 24.

well...
according to the electronic greddy boost gauge boost gauge that i also have
it does hit 24psi and it also says it in peak boost
the ebc wont show it cos if you notice it reads in real time
and the numbers do change pretty fast
peak boost is how you set up the ebc to hit a certain max boost
when the car is dead cold it will hit 25psi until it warms up
when it was dynoed it also read 23.8-24.2 psi when datalogged

my hits 24 to 24.8 peak boost consistanly, but under WOT, my auto meter's needle vibrates between 22-24 in 4th gear... it doesn't hold the boost as well as it does in other gears.
