HKS downpipe help

I bought a used HKS downpipe from a member on this board, and have been looking for installation instructions specific to this downpipe. I searched and could not find. My questions are
1) Is the downpipe donut gasket HKS sends the same as the stock one on the car, can it be reused
2)Do you reuse the stock spring bolts. If so, there was mention about "2 black rings" in the install kit that are supposed to go on the bolts. Did you use these?
3) What are the torque specs for the bolts.
Any help would be great

1) yup reuse the stock donut gasket
2) yup reuse the stock springs & bolts, the 2 small black rings replace the 2 stock rings on the hangers.
3) I have the torque specs at home, if no one posts them by tonight pm me and I will get the specs for ya. But really you can just tighten the bolts as tight as you can by hand except the 2 bolts that go on the hangers, don't over tighten them because they are small.

do you need the new black rings as I don't have them? You said they just replace the stock ones on the hangers correct?

My DP bolted right up with the stock donuts. The stock bolts screwed into the DP hanger.
Also I just screwed the spring bolts in until they bottomed out.
Because the HKS flange is thicker than stock, the springs are a little more compressed,
but it seemed to work out OK.

reusing the 2 stock rings should be fine they looked very similar to the ones supplied.

So, basically what you are saying is that all the stock parts can be used with the HKS downpipe, including gaskets, bolts etc. No need for any other parts for the installation. Is this correct?

ya you can prolly even reuse the stock gasket between the cat and the dp. Just go ahead and install it you'll see that it's a pretty straight forward install when you do it.

HKS install

How hard was it to remove the stock downpipe? and put in the HKS downpipe? I can take my car to a place where they rent out lifts for 2 dollars an hour and check out air tools and such. Basically if I can avoid taking it to a shop and paying a ****ing arm and leg for the install , I'll do it myself like I did my RS-R catback.

you can do it yourself. Just make sure you use some high-heat silicon and tighten all the bolts up tight. The main thing you have to worry about is making sure you don't have any leaks. If you did the catback yourself, the downpipe is not too much harder.

I usually just apply the silicon to the flanges, but it wouldn't hurt to apply it to the gasket too. You can buy the stuff at any autopart store.

To check for leaks, just get underneath with the car running and see if you can see bubblling, hear air coming out, and feel for air coming out also.
