How to change your Brake Pads
Just a few thoughts. I used this Permatex purple brake grease that's good up to 2800F. It's like 8.50 x 2 but if you order in advance you can buy the entire can for $22 or so. I had to buy 3 pkgs since I accidentally threw out one so had to buy another (doh!).
Another section to lube might be the the area where pin that touches the clip. I used a short extension to hammer in the pins, but there's not much room when doing the rear calipers. Put in Axxis Ulitmate pads and they completely transformed the braking ability and feel.

Very Easy
Well Just did all 4 wheels. Couldnt believe how easy they actually were. I used the purple permitex packets. Tried to get a container but my autozone said they cant order chemicals. ROFL
Only complaints I have is every now and then I get a squeel. But read that others get the same thing and come to think of it my factory ones did that as well when new.
Good write up. I would like to add one thing. I had no problem pushing the old pad by hand to push the calipers back in. Not sure why everyone was using screw drivers and such. Just a l8ittle force by ahnd and they go in.
Saves any fear of scratching anything.
Thanks for the write up. I should of took some pics to put back in here.
Follow up. Day or so and they tend to squeal when warm. =/ Guess Ill give it another couple weeks or so and if still squealing then try to relube all the areas again I spose. This sound bout right?

I just did all 4 for the first time and it went fine following these instructions. There's some trial and error for your first time so each wheel got quicker and quicker. I found using a C clamp on the old pad just enough to push the piston in a bit made it an easy pull out. This is especially helpful if you have a ridge on the edge of your rotor from not turning them as it's an extra obstacle holding the pad in there. Then using a screwdriver helped push the piston back because my pad/shim wouldn't fit in enough to push the piston back with. I re-used the stock shim, used Permatex copper anti-seize and have zero squeal after bed-in with Hawk HPS pads. I'll be doing my first autocross with them tomorrow.
Great writeup and very appreciated!

Pics are here. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...rake-pads.html. I'll be doing mine in the near future.
Changed my pads yesterday. Excellent DIY. Only thing I'd add is that I bought one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123 and it worked great to spread the pads.
