OIL/Filter CHANGE
jack up the front of the car with jackstands. slide under the front of the car near the passenger front tire. look up. see the filter? its probably black if its a mitsu filter. the draing plug is right next to it. put a pan under it and loosen it. let it drain. put the plug back with the new crush washer that is supplied with the filter. change the filter with new one after that (make sure you put oil in the new filter and put some on the rubber seal. fill the motor with new oil. drop the car. you're done.
I would start the engine and let it warm up a bit. Remove the engine filler oil cap. Remove the drain plug to drain oil. After the oil is drained, put in a drain plug gasket and torque it to 29 +/- 3 ft lbs. Change the oil filter w/ a good quality brand because it must withstand an oil pressure of 261 PSI. Take a rag and wipe the dirty oil off the filter bracket side mounting surface and ensure that the old O-ring has been removed. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new oil filter. When the oil filter O-ring touches the oil pan flange, tighten the oil filter about 3/4 of a turn (124 in-lb torque). Afterwards, fill the engine with about 4.5 quarts of oil. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Stop the engine and check the dip stick to make sure the oil is right below the maximum line. Add oil *** needed, it usually end up being about 4.8 quarts total into the engine. Also, check under the car to make sure you don't have any leaks. That should be it for the oil change.
