help with oil pressure gauge install
look down by the oil filter. There are two ports with NPT plugs. I replaced one with a 1/2 npt to 1/8 npt reducer then ran a -3 an line up to the sending unit. I will post some pics. I used the other port for temp. It works quite nicely, a tidy install.
sorry it took so long....this is the sending unit. I have the Apex gauges, the sending unit has an 1/8 NPT thread, I used a 1/8 NPT Female to -3 AN male adapter, then used a 90 degree -3 Male on one leg and -3 Female on the other. I then ran the line (female hose ends on either end) down to the actual port (next to the oil filter), I tyraped the line to the dipstick tube and through a machined hole in the block, you'll see it. There I used a NPT reducer 1/2 NPT male (which threads into the port above the filter) to 1/8 NPT Female, which I used a 90 degree 1/8 NPT / -3 AN male/male, which I attached the -3 line to. The other sender down there is the temp sender, I used the same reducer, but the Apex gauges come with a badass swivel sender, I threaded it right into my 1/2 NPT to 1/8 NPT reducer and zipped it all up. Sorry that the pics are a little blurry, but you get the idea......

the best way to install oil pressure sensor is to get an oil filter sandwich adaptor that has pre-made fittings for it. GReddy sells it. It can make the oil pressure sensor install so much easier.
Here it is!

GReddy Oil Filter Block adapters provide an easy way to install oil pressure and oil temperature gauge sensors. Now, one unit includes 3 different threads and 2 different o-ring diameters to fit most Japanese engines. Made from billet aluminum and simple to install, this adapter mounts between the oil filter and engine block.

I got mine from Gruppe-S

that's cool but why move the oil filter closer to the ground? Plus you still need fittings and line. It looks like the fittings that come with the sandwich plate are adapters to attach it to the block and to filter, not to run a gauge. Less connections, less chance of leaks. The total for the fittings described in my post above was probably 35.00 max.
I second that and install was A blast
I love that thing ,cuz made my evo life so much easier

Guys that hex bolt is such a *****, how in the hell did you get leverage on that thing to get it off? I am contemplating using a u-joint and a ratchet but I hate using those things when this much torque is required...
