Will Evo 8 Intake fit Evo 9?

Hi Guys,
I want to get the K&N Typhoon Intake System, but its only available for Evo 8. Will this system bolt on to Evo 9 or will I have clearance issues? Please advise and thanks in advance.

If you do a search that intake is crap. Don't do it unless you want to lose power and have probs

You represent a small percent of people who have not had issues with this intake. I wouldn't tell people they won't have problems because dozens of members have had all kinds of issues with it.

I just recieved this intake as a present and I have had some serious issues with it. I originally wanted this kit so I could retain the MAF, but that seems to be the root of the problem. At first it seemed like a simple boost leak and I uninstalled and then reinstalled the entire thing and tightened the lower IC piping, just in case it came loose while moving the hoses around. Afterwards, the engine would rev cleanly to 7K, whereas before it was getting what I believe was boost cut between 5 and 6 grand. Then today my friend beat me in a race while driving my mom's Mazdaspeed 6.

Here's what I don't get. All of the intake kits are a filter and a metal tube. How is that screwing up the MAF to this degree, and how would the K&N do it, and not all the others? I have read over and over that it simply requires a tune or a reflash of the ECU. But again, the inconsistencies are driving me insane. Why some cars not others? Why the K&N and not BR, Injen, etc? This does not make sense.
