Cleaning the Fan Cabin Blower in 2003 VIII
Mods, if this is in the wrong section, please move.
So the cabin fan blower in my 2003 VIII started to make some noise like it was unbalanced, and the airflow was down a bit. So after searching the site and finding stuff really only on changing the cabin air filter (Which the 03’s apparently do not have), I decided to drop the fan blower motor. It’s fairly simple, one wire connect, one flex hose and three screws, although the screw against the firewall was pretty difficult to get out. The blower and motor will slide out, although some "jiggling" is required.
So, when I drop the motor, this is what I see.
By the looks of it, I might have a mouse problem. Any idea how the shredded paper towels ended up in the blower?
Car is garaged, but I know I've got a few mice in the garage. They are enjoying some special snack I just left out.

AutoDynamic.com has the filter for $21 + $7 for S&H. I looked around a little and this was the best deal.
The mod looks about as easy as they get. This would also be easier than dropping the blower motor for quick cleaning.
