How to remove spray paint from intercooler

i purchased an 06 evo IX a couple of months ago and I noticed that the previous owner attempted to paint the wire mesh on the front bumper. In this poor attempt he/she got overspray on the intercooler and it looks reeeaallly horrid
Is there a "safe" way i can ccompletly clean and remove all the excess paint off the intercooler without damaging it?

The inter cooler is Aluminum take some fine grit sand paper and sand it off.. Or Take some Laquer Thinner on a rag and rub it off.. (BE CAREFUL WITH THAT ONE!!)

Sandpaper will work. Just use a really fine grit.
