hey guys sorry for bringing up an old post but is that digram for the evo 4gsr? and what is the meaning for 40/60? 40 percent coolant and 60% water?

hey evoryder did u have to remove any hoses eg heater hose or watver hose thats connect to teh radiator to give it a complete flush out by running a tap hose throung it?

No need...by running the car and A/C on high let's all the old coolant out...once it's all clear then you are good.

if you flush your system with distilled water some will be left in your heater/engine block
if you fill it with pre-mixed (say, 50/50) coolant then, you'll break your coolant/water ratio (will be like 40/60 instead).

if you're living where it gets really cold, this could break things in winter. so it may be wise to test for coolant density.

i live in sydney australia so what would the the mixing ratio if you have an idea?

what do you mean by break things in winter?

Quochung he is basically saying that potentially there would be left of distilled water after the flush, which may throw off the mix. I don't believe it's that serious, but if you want to be safe them flush the system one more time with your preferred mix.

The coolant containers have recommended mixes based on your climate.
