Most cars have a heater hose valve that closes when cabin heat is not needed. This requires the heater to be on when servicing the cooling system so you can flush and get out air. The Evo 8 does not have this valve. Its a point of failure not wanted on a racing car. Therefore, coolant is always circulating through the heater core no matter the heater control settings. Driving around in summer using the vent setting will cook you.
