Camshaft help and ?s
My current setup is:
New Uicp, Licp
3in Intake, exhaust (test pipe)
new turbo (green)
boost controller
If i were to get kelford 272s what else would u recommend to install along with them? i.e. would i need new springs?
How hard would it be to install cams on your own? how easy would it be to mess it up? could i drive on this for a few days without a tune? and mind u this is with basic know-how.

If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, cams on an 8 are not that hard at all. However, I would suggest doing springs and retainers to be on the safe side...which will have to be done by a shop with the right tools to compress the springs and install the keepers int them. Definitely not something you can do in your garage. If you don't ever plan to rev higher than 8k, singles will work fine with some new retainers. I would also suggest aftermarket cam gears, as there is a descent amount of power to earn from them for a descent price!
If you decide to change the cams yourself, search streetfire.net...there is a video of someone doing and Evo 8 cam swap!

You should be ok to cruise down on the trip. However, if the cams are new, you need to let the car idle for a bit. Cam gears won't be too hard. You just have to make sure you get the timing belt lined up correctly. I would do the cam install according to the video I referred to. After that's all lined up, mark your 0* tooth on your belt for each cam gear and swap the new gears on. Make sure they too are set to 0* when you install them.
^^^agreed. Especially since you're going to be pulling the valve cover anyway. To do the head studs while doing cams takes me about an extra 30-40 minutes. To do them later on would take about an hour and a half.

Before you jump into headstuds make sure you search for doing it without removing the head and the number of oil leaks resulting in doing it that way. I vote on the "mine leaked" when doing it without removing the head side of the fence.
im with you on that one 1x1 method is fine as long as you know what you are doing i have ran 30psi for more then a year now and it doesn't eat or push coolant at all

yeah get ahold of some arp headstuds and the cams you will be using, and if you have no idea what yoru doing it would be better to let a tuning shop install it all for you, and preferably a place that can tune right after instalation
